The brand
Light shaped by hand, one petal at a time.
Slamp was founded in Italy in 1994 by Roberto Ziliani. Its lamps are built from technopolymer sheets, including Slamp's own patented Opalflex®, that are cut, folded and assembled by hand into forms that glow like glass or crystal.
The brand works with designers including Zaha Hadid, Marc Sadler and Adriano Rachele. We carry Slamp for clients who want a showpiece that is lighter, softer and more playful than glass.
Clizia
Designed by Adriano Rachele, Clizia is made of petals that interlock by hand, so each lamp casts soft, layered shadows on the walls around it.
It comes as pendants, ceiling and wall lights and table lamps, in several sizes and colors. The ceiling version shown here is from one of our installs.
Made by hand
Every Slamp lamp is assembled by hand in Italy. Sheets are cut, shaped and joined piece by piece, which is why no two catch the light in quite the same way.
The technopolymer is far lighter than glass, which makes even large pieces easier to hang.

Two Adriano Rachele designs hang together in our showroom: Clizia Suspension in white and fumé, and Étoile, inspired by the movement of a ballerina and about 35 inches across. Slamp’s materials are hard to judge from a photograph, so stop by to see them lit.
