Bover
Mediterranean lighting from Barcelona, made by hand in natural materials. See our Dome 180 in the showroom, and order Garota, Amphora and the full Bover collection through Switch.
The brand
Light with a Mediterranean accent.
Bover was founded in Barcelona in 1996 by Joana Bover. Its lamps take their cues from the Mediterranean: rounded shapes, warm colors and natural materials such as wood, fiber and ribbon, with each piece finished by hand.
The brand works with designers including Benedetta Tagliabue, Jorge Pensi, Alex Fernández Camps and Gonzalo Milà, and makes as much for terraces and gardens as for dining rooms. We specify Bover inside and out, for homes and commercial spaces alike, and our Dome 180 hangs in the showroom.
Garota
Designed by Alex Fernández Camps and Gonzalo Milà, Garota is a tribute to the sea urchins of the Mediterranean coast. Its woven shell is polyethylene, so it can hang outdoors through rain and humidity as easily as it hangs indoors.
It comes as pendants, wall and ceiling lights and multi-light catenaries. The pendants shown here are from one of our installs.
Dome
Designed by Benedetta Tagliabue, Dome is built from more than 170 large and small pieces of wood, intertwined and sewn together one by one. Lit, it throws a lace-like pattern of light and shadow across the room.
It comes in three diameters, 60, 90 and 180 cm (about 24, 35 and 71 inches), so it can work over a table or fill a lobby.
Our Dome 180, the largest size, hangs in the showroom; come see the shadow pattern for yourself. We’ve also specified Dome for commercial spaces, including the lobby of Inner Fire Fitness, shown here.
